Church Family Missions

Adopt-A-Friend is our visitation program for members of FBC that are unable to attend church. Through phone calls, letters, cards, and visits, these faithful members are reminded that they are loved and that FBC cares.

Contact Frank McPhail for more information.

Flower Ministry

Faithful volunteers meet every Monday morning to rearrange flowers from Sunday’s worship service into smaller bouquets that are then delivered to church members or their families in the hospitals or nursing homes. This ministry has been a witness of our love to our community for over 15 years.

Contact Marie Martin for more information.

Intercessory Prayer Ministry

The Intercessory Prayer Ministry is a ministry in which at least one person is praying for those on our prayer list from 5 AM until midnight seven days a week. Those who have signed up to pray commit themselves to pray for one hour each week at a scheduled or unscheduled time. A list of prayer requests is mailed or emailed to each prayer participant the first of each week. Most requests for prayer are obtained through the forms in the bulletin or by phone or email.

Prayer Pager Ministry

Prayer pagers are available to members of FBC or members of their families. The person requesting prayer is assigned a phone number that is published for our church members. When that number is called the recipient’s pager will either vibrate or buzz, alerting that person that they are being prayed for. Some have received as many as 400 calls a month.

Contact Len Collins for more information.

Military Ministry

We obtain and publish the names of members of FBC or their relatives who are serving on active duty in the military. These military personnel will be remembered in our prayers and recognized on Veteran’s Day and sent cards, letters, and gift boxes.

Tender Touch

Tender Touch is a ministry to church family who have suffered the loss of a family member. Out of compassion and concern when a death has occurred, this ministry prepares a meal for the family and out-of-town guests on the day of the service. This meaningful ministry is in coordination with Sunday School classes or other organizations that also want to provide this service.

Wellness Ministry

This new ministry provides information and encouragement to FBC about healthy lifestyles, prevention, management, and coping skills. By taking care of our bodies we may be better witnesses for Christ. At this time this ministry plans to reach out to existing groups within our church. Volunteers from the medical community are needed.
